Bunji Garland

Caribbean’s most adroit lyricist of the day, Bunji Garlin, is poised to make an explosive impact on the global music arena. Add to his phenomenal lyrical abilities Bunji’s astonishing vocal flair and you have an unstoppable force that renders audiences mesmerized from his opening lines.
Hailed as a voice calling out in the wilderness on behalf of the common man, Bunji is one of the few artistes that have successfully bridged the generation gap as well as broken through the social strata, creating songs that explore and address a myriad of issues including crime, discrimination, prejudice, poverty, sexual deviation and political pandering. Of course Bunji also explores the lighter side of living through his songs created just for dancing and romancing the ladies. His unique lyrical escapades into the realm of romance and sexuality earned him the moniker, Bunji Garlin the girls dem Darlin’ and at the same turn he was dubbed the Fireman because of his claim that he has come to burn all evil with his scorching lyrics. Bunji lives in the hope that his songs will touch hearts and change lives around the universe, playing his role in bringing all of mankind to appreciate Soca and Ragga Soca.

Machel Montano HD
One of the biggest hits of Trinidad and Tobago's (T&T) Carnival 2008 was Machel Montano's irresistibly upbeat "Blazin D Trail". The song's lyrics capture the effervescence of carnival's climactic street parade while its title provides an accurate summation of Machel's exhaustive musical pursuits. Over the past 26 years, the single constant in Machel's ever changing, stellar career has been his trail blazing approach to T&T's indigenous soca music. Through his various fusions, which include everything from performing with marching bands to collaborating with Grammy winning reggae artists, Machel has worked tirelessly to establish soca, calypso's energetic offshoot, as a viable entity that can impact beyond T&T's internationally renowned carnival celebrations.

Shadow

There are many calypso lovers who await Shadow's annual release more than that of any other calypsonian. Like Stalin and just a handful of others, Shadow is a totally unique calypsonian; there is no other like Shadow. Since 1974 and his landmark composition "De Bassman," he has never failed to deliver some of the toughest basslines, most infectious grooves, and most original compositions of anyone in the Caribbean. On top of all this, he has a low, authoritative voice that lends an air of truth and finality to all he sings. His social and political commentaries are delivered in such a clever way (and propelled as they are by his unique soca beat) that the messages often sink in subliminally, a testimony to his unique lyrical skills.

    3Canal

3canal are recording artists from Trinidad & Tobago. Their style of music is called Rapso.3Canal
Rapso is conscious music and is more of a philosophy and stance than an identifiable musical signature. It has been termed “The Power of the Word in the Rhythm of the Word”, “The Poetry of Calypso” and “The Consciousness of Soca”.

They began their musical journey in 1997, with the song “Blue”, a song which marked a turning point for the music industry of TnT. It became a benchmark for the new Sound of the music of Trinidad’s Carnival. Two years later they recorded “Talk yuh Talk” [1999] a hard hitting response to all “mocking pretenders of society”. This went on to become an anthem for the dispossessed and voiceless.
